Having a smooth and soft body is a beauty must for most women and 36 year old Liz who lives in Hutton near Preston is no exception. “I go swimming with the children quite a lot and have regular holidays and so keeping my body hair free is quite important.”
To maintain a silky body Liz has tried laser treatment in the past but found it too painful to have on a regular basis and so she waxed her excess hair.
“The problem with waxing is that I have to do it every couple of months and I didn’t feel it was doing my skin any good – sometimes I lost more skin than hair,” she said.
When a friend told Liz about a painfree laser available at Laserase Bolton she was a bit sceptical. “After previous laser treatments that were really painful I was a bit nervous about trying laser again – but I am so glad I did. The results are fantastic and better still there was no pain or discomfort.”
Laserase Bolton used the Soprano laser on Liz’s bikini line. The Soprano has powerful pulses which are not detected by the sensory nerve endings which mean a reduction in the amount of discomfort clients feel. It works by selectively targeting the hair in its follicle and destroying the base of the hair to prevent it re-growing. It can treat all hair types and all skin types and is particularly good for darker skin or for those people with course hair.
Sue Trevaskiss from Laserase said: “Intense pulsed light or (IPL) hair reduction and traditional pulsed lasers have been around for many years but the technology around it has vastly improved. Laserase Bolton was one of the first clinics to use this super fast laser which offers hair removal without the discomfort traditionally associated with laser treatments.”
After just one treatment Liz lost 30% of the hair and has to have just a few more treatments to complete the course. “I just felt a warmth as the laser did it’s stuff,” she said. “It was quick, painless and effective and better still the hair is gone for good so no more waxing for me!”
And it wasn’t just Liz who decided to try the new laser. She took along her 64 year old Mum Ann who has been plagued by excessive hair for most of her life.
“I have very dark hair which means my body hair is quite coarse and thick,” said Ann. “I really hate my hairy legs and have been waxing all my life.
“I decided to offer moral support to Liz and went along with her to the clinic. I tried the Soprano laser on the back of my legs and the results are fabulous.
“I’m going to have the treatment on other areas of my body and say goodbye to this dark hair for good.
“I’m just sad they didn’t have this technology years ago but at least the younger women in our family won’t have to suffer like I did – we are all laser converts now.”
